Prof. Norman Finkelstein now accused of "holocaust denial" and "anti-Semitism"

Finkelstein: "If everyone who claims to be a survivor actually is one, who did Hitler kill? ... The holocaust is a commodity and a power base!"

Norman Finkelstein, the American author of "The Holocaust Industry", and his publisher, are being sued under French law against libel. The French edition (based on the English-language original) is considered actionable and replete with Holocaust revisionism and incitement to antisemitism.

The Simon Wiesenthal Centre's Director for International Liaison, Dr. Shimon Samuels, who three years ago publicly debated Finkelstein when the book was first published in London, presented the following testimony for today's Paris hearing: "'The Holocaust Industry' presents a great danger. Mr. Finkelstein's thesis is an extremist attack on Jews in general, and American Jews in particular, accusing them of exploiting the suffering of the Shoah as 'a pretext for their crimes in the context of the Middle-East conflict'."

This thesis, so close to that of Roger Garaudy [a condemned French Holocaust denier and anti-Jewish hate-monger] today constitutes the principal credo of modern antisemitism.

With particularly acute intellectual perversity, Finkelstein exploits his own Jewish antecedents in order to attack, as 'racist,' specific Jewish leaders, their organizations and the Jewish people.

I am convinced that, as in the aforementioned Garaudy trial, only a judicial penalty will contain the damage wreaked by this particularly offensive libel."

Both, World Jewry and the Holocaust Industry, are in a dilemma. If the French courts acquit Mr. Finkelstein, France must rehabilitate Prof. Roger Garaudy, Prof. Dr. Robert Faurisson and others as they published he same thesis. However, if the Paris court convicts Prof. Finkelstein, the sh.. must hit the fan in Holocaust-Germany where the "Holocaust Industry" was printed and re-printed with the blessing of the government and its persecution machinery. Prof. Finkelstein was even granted permission to lecture in many cities when he toured Germany in 2001. Finkelstein's Jewish publishers (Piper) had used all means then to promote "The Holocaust Industry" without being indicted, as it would have been the case with gentiles. Whether convicted or acquitted, the Finkelstein case could possibly become the sledge hammer to crush the thought-crime-laws in Europe. It seems impossible for Holocaust-Europe to prosecute Finkelstein's "Holocaust Industry" in France for "anti-Semitism" and "holocaust denial", whilst approving it in Holocaust-Germany as factual history. If the French courts convict Prof. Finkelstein for "holocaust denial" and "anti-Semitism", then Germany, in retrospect, approves of such "evil crimes" for not prosecuting Prof. Finkelstein and his Jewish publishers.

Professor F. Littell has said "You can't discuss the truth of the holocaust. That is a distortion of the concept of free speech. The United States should emulate West Germany, which outlaws such exercises." Mind-boggling! Don't you think?
